The Black Eyed Peas are now an industry legend, but this wasn't always the case. Rumors had it that it's Fergie - our birthday girl - who is the main reason why the band became famous in the world in the first place. With her gone, the band is just not the same.

In 2002, when Fergie joined the group, its popularity exploded.

With hits like "Where Is The Love?," "I Gotta Feeling," and "My Humps," the Black Eyed Peas were ubiquitous throughout the 2000s. Due to her tremendous rise in popularity throughout the years, Fergie appeared to be a permanent fixture. The Black Eyed Peas evolved from hip-hop to mainstream music.

This action resulted in increased international recognition.

Fergie Leaving = Black Eyed Peas Downfall?

However, Fergie secretly quit The Black Eyed Peas in 2017 prior to the release of the band's seventh album. As a result of this decision, people were not very impressed with the album.

As with numerous other bands, fans have favorites. The Black Eyed Peas were already successful before Fergie arrived. The Black Eyed Peas became one of the best-selling bands in history once she became their main singer. As a result of the popularity of the group, will.i.am is worth approximately $70 million. The release of "Elephunk" in 2003 changed The Black Eyed Peas from a successful band to an international phenomenon. Since Fergie joined the group shortly before the publication of this album, she contributed greatly to its success.

However, the Black Eyed Peas formed similarly to numerous other bands. will.i.am (William Adams) and apl.de.ap (Allan Pineda Lindo) wished to shock the world with their music and dance moves. Kim Hill took the decision to resign in 2000, following a two-year tenure.

Prior to 2002, when Fergie joined the Black Eyed Peas, the group was not known abroad. Her looks, attitude, and extraordinary voice finally boosted the fame of The Black Eyed Peas. Shortly after Fergie joined the group and as a result of the switch to pop music, the group's album sales soared.

Fergie left the Black Eyed Peas in order to concentrate on motherhood. No one understood why Fergie was leaving the band when the news broke. As supporters grew more dissatisfied with the choice, they demanded to know why she quit after 15 years. Will.i.am said in an interview that Fergie quit The Black Eyed Peas to focus on raising her son, Axl. Axl, who was born in 2013, was approximately five years old when his mother quit The Black Eyed Peas.

Even though the time of diapers and first steps had passed, Fergie's demanding schedule as the group's lead vocalist prevented her from focusing on every aspect of motherhood. Leaving The Black Eyed Peas allowed her to spend more time with her son and on solo ventures. Fergie has been extremely active over the years in terms of creating new songs, fashion, and winning awards. In addition, she concentrated on establishing her Santa Ynez Valley, California wine brand, Ferguson Crest.

Fergie was replaced by the Black Eyed Peas shortly after her departure. A few years after Fergie stepped down as the group's lead singer, the Black Eyed Peas replaced her with J Rey Soul.

While Fergie was quick to promote the band's new album on Instagram, many fans were unimpressed by this sudden development. As soon as J Rey Soul was spotted playing the original Fergie sections, fans swiftly took to Twitter to vent their hate. This should not have been the case.

Anyhow what can be concluded is that Fergie's career was boosted when she joined The Black Eyed Peas, and the group effectively established its brand in the pop music market.
