Yanga Chief reflected on the recent losses he suffered after the deaths of his friends, rappers Costa Titch and AKA.

The hip-hop industry is being challenged in the past years after several rappers were killed and murdered. AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, died in February after he was shot to death. Costa Titch, meanwhile, died while performing at the Ultra Music Festival on March 15.

Yanga Chief Makes Massive Promise to AKA, Costa Titch

On Wednesday, the South African rapper took to Instagram and opened up about AKA and Costa Titch's deaths and legacies.

"Waking up to this reality daily is heavy to bear. So many conversations I wish had gone differently. The arrogance to think 'we still have time'. Will we ever get over ourselves sisaphila?" he captioned the post. "I'm beyond grateful for what we created, Forbes. Not just songs, not just memories, but we actually changed people's lives."

He penned more heartfelt words, saying that he would do things despite not being sure which direction he is headed. He then told AKA and Costa Titch that he would not let their legacies go to waste.

Although his friends are no longer there for him, Yanga Chief declared he would believe in himself more like the late rappers believed in him.

His cause of death remains unknown as of press time. Meanwhile, the authorities revealed that a post-mortem would be done to find out what happened to Costa Titch and what led to his death.

Although there is no confirmation yet, buzz immediately surrounded his death, with people suggesting that he died due to exhaustion, heart attack, underlying illness, vaccine, or drugs.

Meanwhile, his friend and collaborator, rapper AKA, died in a shooting incident outside a Durban restaurant in South Africa. Police launched a probe that focuses on the potential contract killing.
