Pretty Lights officially returned to the music industry with an announcement about his planned tour and new music.

Five years after he went on a sudden hiatus, producer Pretty Lights shared a two-minute video online confirming his next projects. His last tour appearance was during a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater, while his last music was "Rainbows & Waterfalls" in 2017.

The Twitter video on Tuesday shares that the New Orleans-based producer will soon launch his 27-date "The Soundship Spacesystem" tour. The announcement clip also unveils a what-seem-to-be preview of his new song.

The unnamed track, which plays in the background, has the lyrics: "I'll fly a starship across the universe tonight/ And when I reach the other side/ I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can/ Perhaps I may become a pretty light again/ Or I may simply be a single drop of rain/ But I will remain/ And I'll be back again."

Pretty Lights will have 27 shows in nine cities, including New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Brooklyn, Chicago, Pelham, Denver, and Lake Dillion. He is yet to confirm the exact venues and dates of the 27 shows.

However, the video already reveals that the tour will have two new types of performances: Pretty Lights in Dub and The Fantastic Pretty Lights. Michal Menert and The Pretty Fantastics are expected to appear on the latter.

Pretty Lights' new album and tour will happen as the producer also appears in different music festivals and shows.

The producer was tapped to headline the three-day music festival, Suwannee Hulaween, at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Florida from October 26 to 29.

Gem & Jam festival organizers also selected him as the headliner of the new Redmond festival, Cascade Equinox, in September.

Where Did Pretty Lights Go?

Fans were left clueless about his whereabouts in the past five years. He also removed the content of his social media and started his unannounced hiatus in the music industry.

Before his recent announcement, Pretty Lights only made brief public appearances after his last live appearance in 2018.

In April 2020, he cleared his Instagram account before posting that he would donate $10,000 to help people who frontline the protests after George Floyd's death. Pretty Lights also made a virtual appearance during the "Break Science" show.

His most recent appearance was in February when he appeared in a promotional video for Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom to mark its 20th anniversary.
