Former Iron Maiden singer, Blaze Bayley, underwent his needed surgery after suffering a heart attack.

Mark and Christopher Appleton, who manage bookings for Bayley's band, confirmed in an Instagram post that the singer suffered a heart attack, leading to the postponement of his scheduled 2023 Unstoppable Tour. They confirmed he would undergo a "triple - and possibly quadruple - heart bypass surgery," but Bayley had to wait until recently to receive the procedure.

Blaze Bayley Undergoes Triple Heart Bypass Surgery

Weeks after his hospitalization on March 25, Bayley had reportedly been transferred to an operating theatre Thursday where he underwent a triple heart bypass surgery.

The Appletons shared the new update on Official Blaze Bayley's Facebook page, calling the procedure the "first major step" to begin Bayley's treatment and recovery.

"Blaze is an absolute Warrior & I know you will all join us in sending him your love, support & energy towards a successful operation & a very positive recovery to good health afterwards," it said, adding, "Thank you everyone. You know how much your support means."

They pledged to release new update once the procedure was done. Eight hours after the initial update was posted, Mark and Christopher released another post to confirm that Bayley was out of surgery following the successful operation.

The new post also revealed that the singer would still undergo a quadruple bypass. The date of the next procedure remains unknown.

According to Cleveland Clinic, the operation aims to reroute blood passing through three block areas in a person's coronary arteries. On the other hand, Bayley's next open-heart surgery will focus on the four blocked arteries to restore the blood flow to his heart.

Fans Offer Heartfelt Support to Blaze Bayley

Since Bayley experienced the health scare, his fans have been making sure he knows he is not alone in his health battle.

The Appletons opened blazebayleyshop.com to support the singer's hospitalization. However, they revealed that the public has been asking how to donate instead of buying merch.

Although Bayley and his team wanted them to buy the goods instead, the management gave them their official Paypal channel where they could send their donations.

Bayley served as Iron Maiden's vocalist from 1994 to 1999 to temporarily replace Bruce Dickinson in his absence. After leaving the band, he launched his Blaze Bayley band but had to let go of it due to financial and health problems.
