Blaze Bayley's health problems have been put under the spotlight after the Iron Maiden's former frontman suffered a heart attack.

Bayley, who famously fronted Iron Maiden from 1994 to 1999 during Bruce Dickinson's absence, worried fans after news about his hospitalization emerged. His official Instagram page confirmed the postponement of his scheduled Unstoppable Tour after the vocalist had a heart attack and was hospitalized.

The statement, however, clarified that he is now in a stable condition.

Following the event, talks about his past health problems reemerged.

Blaze Bayley's Health Problems Explored

Bayley has been dealing with health issues in the past years.

In fact, it caused him to leave his other band, Blaze Bayley Band, in 2011. He also cited financial reasons as the cause of his departure. At that time, however, the vocalist did not share his exact health problem.

In 2016, Bayley opened up about his mental health problems. The singer revealed in an interview with EonMusic that he struggled to cope with the pressure of being an Iron Maiden member because of his issues.

"There was a certain amount of anxiety, which would be natural because many people inside the business expected the band to fold after Bruce Dickinson left," he noted. "Everybody was anxious; it was such a huge change; you've had all the really big successes with one singer, and then a new guy comes in and a lot of people in the business are going."

His other health conditions have never been confirmed publicly. However, he dealt with heartbreak when his wife, Debbie Hartland, died on Sep. 27, 2008, after suffering a stroke two days before her passing.

She also had a cerebral hemorrhage in July 2008.

What Happened to Blaze Bayley?

The spotlight on his current health emerged after Mark and Christopher Appleton announced in an Instagram post that Bayley would undergo a "triple - and possibly quadruple - heart bypass surgery" following his heart attack.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine's official website, the procedure is being done to treat heart disease by removing the build-up of fatty material within the organ's walls and bypassing the blockage through a new graft.

With that, Bayley's representatives told fans to expect that his recuperation would be long and would last for months. Despite that, the vocalist is said to be positive about recovering fully soon and returning with good health and fitness.
