Suga is reintroducing his alter ego, Agust D, to the world.

Agust D is not, by any means, a stranger to the music and KPOP industry; everyone knows that it's about to get real when Suga drops music under his alter ego's name.

But apparently, with the height of success and fame that Suga has received, Agust D is yet to catch up.

"Since I had to finalize the trilogy, I wanted to push Agust D by any means," Suga told Rolling Stone. Yet in reality, in terms of marketing, Suga has more presence. There was a heavy pressure to synchronize [the personas of] Agust D and Suga, and it took a toll on finishing the album."

With the release of "D-Day," the world might just have more of an idea just who Agust D really is, and why they have to take him seriously.

"D-Day"

According to Billboard, the newly released album topped this week's favorite new music poll, with more than 49% of the votes.

It bested Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny's "un x100to," and The Weeknd and Future's "Double Fantasy."

Despite its massive success, apparently, it was that reconciliation between his identities and finding a sound that will best make sense to him and his fans that were a struggle.

However, the KPOP star has found a way to balance these two things: by rapping and making music that came from his heart and experiences.

In "Haegeum," Suga raps: "Everyone's been blinded by envy and jealousy / Without realizing that they're putting shackles on each other / Don't get swept away by this tsunami of info."

Perhaps this alludes to his experience as a successful and prominent KPOP idol.

This song is but one out of the 10-track album that is considered Suga's first full-length.

Success

Despite his worries, Suga and BTS' fans managed to deliver by bringing "D-Day" to the top of the charts.

According to the Korean Herald, the album dominated the Oricon charts, which is a music chart prominent in Japan.

It was pronounced as the No. 1 album on Oricon's daily album ranking after its drop. It also sold over 110,000 copies in the country.

It also performed well on the iTunes Charts all over the world. "Haegeum" topped in countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and more.
