Five Finger Death Punch will not be able to support Metallica in its Amsterdam show following Ivan Moody's surgery.

Five Finger Death Punch is one of the bands tapped by Metallica to become the opening acts of its "M72" world tour. The other acts include Pantera, Mammoth WVH, Ice Nine Kills, Greta Van Fleet, Volbeat, and Architects.

However, Five Finger Death Punch canceled its appearance in Metallica's Amsterdam, Netherlands, show to allow Moody to recover following a procedure.

Five Finger Death Punch To Miss Show With Metallica

On the band's Facebook page, it shared a photo of the members alongside a message confirming that it would sit out in Metallica's Amsterdam show on April 29.

According to the post, the bandmates decided not to push through due to Moody's recent surgery to correct his acute hernia injury.

"The recovery proved more challenging than initially thought and on the advice of his doctors, Ivan and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will not be able to perform the show in Amsterdam with METALLICA," the band went on. "5FDP will perform ALL subsequent scheduled dates. See you in Paris [on May 17]!"

Meanwhile, Metallica confirmed the development in a post and revealed who would replace the band in Amsterdam.

Instead of Five Finger Death Punch, Metallica will have Nightwish Band's Floor Jansen as the opening act. The singer will reportedly have a solo set to support her album, "Paragon."

Ivan Moody Previously Injured Himself

Before undergoing surgery for his acute hernia injury, Moody left fans worried in May 2022 as the frontman sustained an eye injury while performing with Five Finger Death Punch at the Welcome to Rockville festival.

The singer said in a since-deleted video post on Instagram (as transcribed by Blabbermouth) that the laser beam accidentally shot his eye. He also felt overheated, something Charlie Engen also experienced that he almost lost consciousness.

Moody visited an ER of a nearby hospital after the show, where several concertgoers also got admitted due to several health issues.

Amid Moody's health issues, Five Finger Death Punch pledged to return to the stage soon. See the band's remaining 2023 tour dates below:
