The book will be published two weeks prior to what would have been Amy's 40th birthday on September 14. Her estate has pledged to donate all book royalties to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, with a minimum donation of £70,000. 'Back to Black,' a biopic about the singer, is also presently in production, under the direction of Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Marisa Abela will portray Amy, and Jack O'Connell will play her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Eddie Marsan and Leslie Manville will play her father and maternal grandmother, respectively.

Amy Winehouse became a global phenomenon because she possessed an iconic, spine-tinglingly soulful voice and a style of songwriting that left her emotions bare. Amy wrote all five of the singles from her second and most successful album, "Back to Black," particularly "Rehab," "You Know I'm No Good," "Back to Black," "Tears Dry on Their Own," and "Love Is a Losing Game."

She paved the way for neo-soul artists such as Adele, Sam Smith, and Emeli Sandé to storm the charts themselves with her distinctive voice, style, and personable demeanor. Tragically, Back To Black would be her last album, capping a relatively brief career marred by addiction.

She was obviously on the verge of self-destruction in the days preceding her untimely demise.
