The third and final day of this year's Something in the Water music festival's lineup is promising and many fans were excited to enjoy the music over the weekend. However, organizers for the event were forced to cancel the event due to unforseen circumstances; what happened?

According to Rolling Stone, the Virginia Beach waterfront festival was canceled at the last minute due to bad weather.

For fans who purchased tickets and attended the first two days of the event, organizers noted that they will be refunded 33% of the base price from admission passes. Full refunds will be processed starting tomorrow and it would take approximately 14 days.

Something in the Water Festival CANCELED

Taking to their official social media accounts, the team behind the event shared the disappointing news to fans after they were advised by Virginia Beach and local authorities to cancel the third day of the festival.

The main reason why they had to cancel the event was due to "severe weather as well as the current and forecasted storms approaching and tornado warning."

They also noted that the decision was not easy but they had to consider concertgoers' safety because it was their number one priority.

Hinting about the 2024 edition of Something in the Water festival, the record producer/singer teased fans that the event will be shifted to a different date to prevent rain.

"Next year, more acts, more merch, more food... just more!" he added.
