After a recent report of a staff member claiming that "The Kelly Clarkson Show" was a toxic workplace environment, the Daytime Emmy-winning host has finally addressed the allegations and has vowed to do something else instead.

Clarkson and the show were in the midst of moving to the East Coast amid decongestion efforts in the Los Angeles studios. The show will now be part of other television programs airing in New York, a part of a local government program to incentivize television productions to move to the state.

Kelly Clarkson Address 'Toxic Environment' Allegations

In a social media post on May 13, 2023, Clarkson released a lengthy statement revealing her surprise at the issue.

"I love my team at The Kelly Clarkson Show and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on this show is unacceptable, she said in a statement.

In a Rolling Stone report, old and current staff members alleged that the network, NBC, is protecting the show, but Kelly, the host, has "no clue" of what's happening behind.

"I have always been, and will continue to be committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at "The Kelly Clarkson Show," she added.

In a report from Variety, the staff only got a hold of the confirmation news that they would be transferring to New York for next season via a staff-wide email, hours before the same publication reported it. They know that the show is moving to the East Coast because showrunners have gauged employees of their willingness to relocate.

Meanwhile, NBC Universal has finally responded to the allegations.

"We are committed to a safe and respectful work environment and take workplace complaints very seriously and to insinuate otherwise is untrue," the company assured as they vowed to investigate the matter.

However, there were conflicting reports from the staff that the Rolling Stone exclusive was not reflective of the "toxic" workplace environment they alleged as Clarkson herself personally paid everyone as the WGA strike prompted the show to close a week before it was actually scheduled.

'The Kelly Clarkson Show' A Toxic Workplace?

Kelly Clarkson, like her on-screen personality, is the same behind closed doors. In the Rolling Stone report, staff members named Alex Duda, one of the showrunners as the "monster."

Clarkson was said to have not been aware that her workers have to work as a babysitter, and a delivery rider, among many other jobs to suffice their livelihood.

In turn, Clarkson vowed on her post that she would be having leadership training for all of their senior staff including herself.
