"American Idol" has seen some of the biggest musicians in the music industry in its judges panel. From Nicki Minaj to Mariah Carey, could Lizzo be the next judge for the reality singing competition show?

Katy Perry recently played with puppies for BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel wherein she was asked, "If you could add anyone as the fourth 'Idol' judge, who would you choose and why?"

The pop star, who recently performed for King Charles III's coronation concert, didn't hesitate and revealed that she wanted Lizzo to join them next season.

"This is an invitation from me, Katy Perry. Lizzo, I'm asking you to join the panel. I'm feeling a little outnumbered on the testosterone. I could really use some bold, honest, hot takes," she said. (via Pop Crave)

As of this writing, Lizzo has yet to respond to the pop star's invitation.

Lizzo Updates

The recent open invitation comes after Lizzo announced the cancelation of some of her tour dates due to her health condition.

The "About Damn Time" hitmaker took to her official Instagram account to share a video of herself, explaining what happened, saying it hurts for her to speak after experiencing "extreme flu-like" symptoms.

Her team initially thought it was COVID, but she tested negative for the virus. Later on, it was revealed that she had strep throat.

"My throat is still extremely raw and swollen. My lymph nodes are swollen, and the doctors say that it would not be wise to sing while my throat is like this," she said.

Fortunately for the pop singer, she was able to return to her regular touring schedule last week in Baltimore, Maryland.
