Not more than a week since "The Masked Singer" takes a break after its Grand Finals, judge Nicole Scherzinger has already laid out her plans for the next coming months. She will be playing the role of Norma Desmond in the revival production of "Sunset Boulevard" on West End!
Originally played by Patti LuPone in 1993, Scherzinger makes her West End comeback in 2023 for the highly-anticipated Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical. This came after "Bad Cinderella" announced its closing on Broadway after underwhelming reviews and box office.
Nicole Scherzinger on 'Sunset Boulevard'
According to Playbill, Nicole Scherzinger will be putting life back again on the role of Norma Desmond, a faded eccentric former silent screen star as she tries to reclaim her fame.
Speaking fondly about the Pussycat Dolls vocalist, Jamie Lloyd, the show's director, confessed his excitement about working with Scherzinger.
"After our reappraisal of Evita at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park, I'm very excited to rediscover another iconic Lloyd Webber musical-and Sunset Boulevard is one of his most thrilling, complex, and atmospheric scores. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to create a new production of this fascinating piece with the extraordinary Nicole Scherzinger."
For Lloyd-Webber himself, Scherzinger has been a blast to work with, noting she is "one of the finest singers" he had the opportunity to collaborate with.
"I can't wait to get started on this exciting show with her and the rest of this brilliant team," he added.
Directed by Lloyd, "Sunset Boulevard" is revived in congruence with its 30th Anniversary as the show debuted at the Adelphi Theatre in London in 1993. "Sunset Boulevard" will be housed at the Savoy Theatre for the upcoming revival production.
As of this writing, Scherzinger is the only artist cast on the show. The publication noted that additional information and details will be announced soon.
This wasn't the first time that Scherzinger explored theater. In 2014, she was cast as Grizabella on the revival production of "Cats," another Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical.

Nicole Scherzinger on 'The Masked Singer'
Deadline confirmed that "The Masked Singer" Season 10 is officially returning to Fox. However, with Nicole's new commitment, it could be likely that she would be replaced as a judge on the mystery singing game show.
As of this writing, announcements for her replacement haven't been announced.
