On the band's official Facebook page, the band apologized for the sudden announcement saying that its frontman, Kennedy, had suffered a respiratory infection that limit his vocal abilities.

After learning about the band's absence, fans expressed their sadness as they would not be able to meet them in person. They also sent the vocalist well wishes as they showed anticipation to see the band live once he gets better.

Welcome To Rockville closed out with Deftones and Tool's performances, and the organizers received praise for bringing people from diverse backgrounds to the event.

How Myles Kennedy Takes Care of His Voice

Kennedy has not released an update regarding his health status, but he once revealed during a 2018 interview his ways on how to take care of his voice.

According to the vocalist, he tries hard not to push himself too much while receiving help from his "great vocal coach." He also shared the techniques that help him prolong his voice, which include not smoking, and being aware of the number of alcoholic drinks he consumes.

Despite the band's absence at Welcome To Rockville, Alter Bridge will soon meet its fans at the summer 2023 leg of its Pawns & Kings tour alongside Mammoth WVH and Sevendust. The highly-anticipated show will start on Aug. 1 in Buffalo, New York, and end on Aug. 31 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The upcoming show will be launched in support of the 10-track album of the same name which came out in October.
