Lance "Un" Rivera clarified the buzz surrounding the stabbing incident involving Jay-Z 24 years ago.

Jay-Z received three years probation after the two-year legal battle in connection to the stabbing of the former music executive and producer. But decades after the incident, Rivera himself clarified what happened.

Lance "Un" Rivera Says Jay-Z Did Not Stab Him

Rivera recently sat down for an interview with Vlad TV during which he opened up about the highly-publicized stabbing incident that led to Jay-Z being put under three-year probation amid his skyrocketing career.

The former music executive recalled visiting a nightclub 24 years ago where the rapper was also present. He then revealed that the 53-year-old "Empire State of Mind" rapper was not the one who stabbed him in his back.

While he knows everybody is aware that Jay-Z will not do something like that, Rivera did not disclose the identity of the person who actually did it.

"JAY-Z and me had a conversation before I got hit in the head with a champagne bottle ... I don't know where they got JAY-Z stabbed me," he said. "Because if anyone knows JAY-Z they know he's a nice guy. He's an artist. He's a poet. He's gifted. It's never been his history."

Despite that, Jay-Z ended up having a three-year probation sentence.

What Happened?

The alleged stabbing happened on the night of Dec. 2, 1999. At that time, Jay-Z and other members of the Roc-A-Fella entourage went to the event which served as a listening party for the soon-to-be-released "Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter."

However, things got out of hand when a fight broke out and left Rivera with a stab wound. The rapper left the venue, but witnesses insisted that he was the one who committed the stabbing.

Jay-Z turned himself in for questioning, but he and his attorney maintained his innocent. The two-year legal battle started then until he pleaded guilty in October 2001.

He was later sentenced to three years probation, preventing him from leaving New York without permission from his probation officer. Buzz started to surround the incident, with Nas including on his track "Ether" that Jay-Z took the fall to save a friend.
