Why do fans no longer hear that much from Jason Mraz?

The expansion of the music industry over the past decades gave music acts and singers a chance to shine in their own ways. For Mraz's part, he dropped several hit songs after releasing his 2002 debut album, "Waiting for My Rocket to Come," which included "I'm Yours" and "Lucky" with Colbie Caillat.

After he dominated Billboard Hot 100 for 76 weeks at that time, Mraz seemingly started to lie low.

About Jason Mraz: Age, Birthday

Born in Mechanicsville, Virginia, on June 23, 1977, the 45-year-old crooner started to fall in love with music and even credited his former girlfriend for driving him into songwriting.

He continuously dropped albums over the past year despite his struggles with mental health and sexuality. Among the music projects he released were "Mr. A-Z," "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things," "Love Is a Four Letter Word," and "Yes!"

The latter was the last "big album" he had, but Mraz still released more music in the years thereafter, with the most recent one to be shared with the public this year.

Jason Mraz's New Album 2023

Titled "Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride," Mraz's 2023 music project will serve as his eighth studio album. Before releasing it on June 23, the two-time Grammy-winning singer shared a music video for the new single from the album, "I Feel Like Dancing."

The clip features Gianna Marie, Josh Helfgott, Nick Kosir, the Raining Jane band, Mona Tavakoli, Becky Gebhardt, Mai Bloomfield, and Chaska Potter.

"It became bigger than five musicians who usually sit around a campfire playing acoustic songs," Mraz said in the press release, per People. "This album reflects a concerted effort to push ourselves and push the process with our hearts fully open."

While creating his new material, Mraz also has to deal with depression and other mental health issues.

Jason Mraz's Coming Out Affected His Career?

As he battles depression, Mraz clarified that his sexuality never caused him to suffer a backlash.

Mraz notably became the first straight man to ever appear on the cover of the LGBTQ magazine, Instinct. However, fans speculated that he might not be straight after he shared a poem to mark Pride Month, and included the line "I am bi your side."

He soon confirmed to New York Post that he is indeed bisexual, opening up about the struggles of hiding it while making music. Still, focusing on his career reportedly kept him from falling into a depressed state. He told The Mirror that playing music made him believe he is "something" and not "nothing."
