Summer Walker, one of the most adored R&B artists to date, has expressed her sentiments against the Grammy Awards for allegedly snubbing her works in the past few years.

Walker released "Over It" and "Still Over It," released in 2019 and 2021, respectively. Despite the album's critical acclaim, it was never nominated for a Grammy Award.

Summer Walker Grammy Snub

Speaking to "Caresha Please," Summer Walker opened herself up to one-half of the City Girls in speaking about her sentiments on her previous albums. Caresha, also known as Yung Miami, was also one of the collaborators on Walker's 2021 song "Ex For a Reason."

Talking about the albums, Walker had this to say: "Honestly, both albums, Over It and Still Over It, really did the numbers. I don't know, I feel like I got played. The numbers were there, the fans was there. When I pop out for a show; sold out every time."

According to Walker, she does know why but refuses to go into detail about it.

"But its okay, as long as it - cause you to know, some people they have the numbers, but the love ain't there," she added, noting that for her it's different, "The love is there, the money is there."

Summer Walker 'Still Over It'

"Still Over It," her most recent album, debuted at the No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. At the time of its release, the album broke the record of the most album streams by a female artist in a single day on Apple Music. She also broke her own record for her largest streaming debut week for a female R&B artist.

Concurrently, as the album debuted, she is now in the same league as Taylor Swift as the only two female artists in the industry who has ranked 18 songs concurrently on the Billboard Hot 100.

Despite the huge strides she has made, Walker has yet to be recognized for her impact and music.

Summer Walker Awards

Unfortunately, Summer Walker never won an American Music Award and a BET Award despite having five nominations. She has been nominated for a Grammy Award though but as a featured artist on Kendrick Lamar's "Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers."

In 2020, she won a Top R&B Female Artist at the Billboard Music Awards and Best New R&B Artist at the iHeart Radio Music Awards in the same year.
