As Blink-182 continues touring with Tom DeLonge, Matt Skiba expanded his empire outside the band.

From 2015 to 2022, Skiba served as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Blink-182 until DeLonge returned to the group. With the co-founder's return after seven years of absence, he has been out of the band's tours and shows.

Where Is Matt Skiba Now?

As confirmed by Asian Man Records, the former Alkaline Trio frontman is now leading another band featuring members of AFI and Against Me!

According to the report, the new band - called LEKTRON - released its debut two-song single titled "Dirty Jacks" and "She's a War" on May 30. Skiba formed the band alongside guitarist Randy Moore, Against Me! Drummer Atom Willard, and AFI bassist Hunter Burgan.

Skiba's new band will release a 12" vinyl package this year, according to reports, but fans can already pre-order the CD and other merch through Asian Man Records' website. On top of these, LEKTRON will reportedly drop a full-length album and tour, details of which will be shared at a later date.

The press release describes LEKTRON as a band that "draws influence from its members' respective projects as well as bands like Fugazi, Joy Division and Brainiac."

Blink-182 Tours Without Matt Skiba

Skiba's new band formation occurred amid Blink-182's 2023/2024 World Tour which started on April 14 in Indio's Empire Polo Club. The trek also includes European, North American, Oceanian, and Latin American's legs, with the current last show scheduled in Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes on April 2, 3, 5, and 6.

The band marked its first-ever tour with DeLonge at the Coachella Festival 2023 years after the vocalist dropped "Neighborhoods" with Blink-182 in 2011.

He is set to tour alongside Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus in the next few months, including:
