Elvis Presley's death did not stop Ann-Margret from loving the late King of Rock and Roll.

The music industry was hit with tragic news when Presley died on Aug. 16, 1977, and his famous lover Ann-Margret made sure she could see him one last time during his funeral.

Years after his passing, it was revealed that his love affair continued to admire him as her compassion remained burning.

Ann-Margret Still Loved Elvis Presley

Express UK cited Ann-Margret's conversation with Presley's father, Vernon, two years after the singer's death when she went to Memphis, Tennessee, to see the ill patriarch.

During their conversation, they reportedly spoke about their love for Presley until their talk became heartbreaking.

"He told me how much he missed his son," Ann-Margret said. "And I said that I missed him, too."

She revealed that Vernon was the first person she saw when she attended Presley's funeral at Graceland. At that time, they reportedly did not talk and cried in each other's arms instead due to the heartbreaking event.

Meanwhile, Vernon told Ann-Margret how proud his son was of her before his death.

The former lovers met on the set of the 1964 movie, "Viva Las Vegas," and immediately ignited a romance that lasted for over a year. However, Presley was already dating his then-soon-to-be bride, Priscilla and left her furious about his affair after discovering their late-night dates in Las Vegas.

Elvis Presley, Ann-Margret's Affair Ended

When Priscilla discovered her soon-to-be husband's infidelity, the singer's manager Colonel Tom Parker got involved in the issue. He reportedly pressured the singer, alongside Priscilla's parents, saying his image would be ruined as he brought her from Germany to the USA.

From there, he abruptly decided not to see Ann-Margret anymore. In the book "Elvis and the Memphis Mafia" by Memphis Mafia member, Marty Lacker, he said that the "Can't Help Falling in Love" hitmaker "ghosted" his co-star and continued his relationship with Priscilla.

Ann-Margret reportedly contacted Lacker and expressed her rage by asking him: "What the hell is wrong with your boss? One minute we're in love, and the next minute I don't hear from him again. He won't even take my calls."

Presley and Priscilla ended up marrying each other during an 8-minute ceremony in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967. They filed for divorce four years later.
