Niall Horan successfully won "The Voice" in his first season as a coach of the beloved reality singing competition. He won over Blake Shelton, whose contestant was a runner-up in the said season.

Supposedly, Shelton is hard-pressed to leave the show with his one last final win, but Horan managed to win with Gina Miles.

Blake Shelton's Final Words in 'The Voice' For Niall Horan

In an interview with People Magazine, Niall Horan, the former One Direction member, revealed Blake Shelton's final words to him before actually leaving "The Voice."

As Horan recalled during the Grand Finale, when everyone stood up after the winner had been announced, Shelton approached him, hugged him, and only uttered six short words.

"I gave him a big hug, and he said, 'I taught you everything you know.' That's all he said, not congratulations or anything," he recalled.

Horan and Shelton had quite a banter during the show's last season. Shelton had constantly teased the young lad for being a newcomer in the show, to which the former quips back brilliantly every time. For "The Show" singer, he is going to "miss" Shelton.

"He is not one of those famous friends, in my eyes. I think if I had met him outside of The Voice, I would have probably been friends with him anyway. Weirdly enough, we've got a lot in common, we're quite similar people. Though not in dress sense," he continued.

"I'm going to miss [Blake], but I get to work with the other half of that marriage," he says. "I met Gwen at the after-party for this season's Voice. She came and surprised Blake on the last night, and she was so funny and so cool, so I'm excited."

However, Horan is looking forward to working with Shelton's other half, Gwen Stefani, who will be returning as a judge next season with him.

According to Horan, he and Stefani have already met at the surprise after-party she had for Shelton, describing her to be "funny and so cool."

Along with Blake Shelton leaving the show, Kelly Clarkson and Chance The Rapper will not be returning for the next season.

Stefani and John Legend will take over their spots as country music legend Reba McEntire will fill in the missing void that Shelton has left.
