Drew Taggart, popularly known for being a member of the DJ duo The Chainsmokers, recently confessed something to his fans and he tackled his recent revelation on a new song.

The musician recently took to the group's official Instagram account in which he shared a video of himself playing the piano with the song "Self Destruction Mode" playing in the background.

In the caption, the 33-year-old record producer/singer took the time to share a shocking confession to their followers, saying he had struggled with alcohol his entire career.

"i've struggled with drinking throughout my career as it's an addiction that's woven into the environment we exist in," he wrote.

The musician further explained that there is guilt of "not being good enough" or not being better sent him into a "spiral" which makes him do his bad habit cycle.

By the end of the post, Taggart clarified that the new song is not "a cry for help," but rather an "embrace or celebration" of all that he is.

"I know that im flawed. i know that i am great and so are you. Never forget it," he added. (via Page Six)

After the clip was shared on the social media platform, fans immediately bombarded the comments section with love and support, with some users relating to what he went through.

"I can feel your pain Drew. I've struggled with anxiety myself over the last few month, and I'm not the most perfect person either, no one is," one user commented.

Drew Taggart and his musical collaborator Alex Pall recently teamed up with Bludnypmh for the track "Self Destruction Mode."

Drew Taggart's Previous Habits

It's safe to assume that the musician is currently recovering from his alcohol addiction and doing all the best he could to be better.

However, sources spoke to Page Six in 2021 to reveal that the singer loved "partying hard," especially that one time at The Palace where he reportedly flirted with various girls.

"Drew was definitely having a great time and trying to hook up with every girl," the insider said.

Despite the speculations about his partying habits, the musician has yet to confirm whether the rumors about him were true.
