2023 has been a good year for music so far, with many artists finally returning to their touring commitments, which also meant that new music is continuously released.

With the year 2023 approaching its second half, Rolling Stone has assembled a playlist that pretty much sums up the Best Songs of 2023 so far!

Rolling Stone Best Songs of 2023

'Kill Bill (Remix)' - SZA feat. Doja Cat

The highly-anticipated collaboration of SZA and Doja Cat came in the form of a remixed SZA hit. "Kill Bill," the lead single of SZA's smash album, "SOS," peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts after the Doja Cat assist.

Following the success of the Grammy-winning song "Kiss Me More," Doja Cat and SZA proved to be one of the few partnerships in music that certifies a huge hit right before it hits streaming services!

'Princess Diana' - Ice Spice feat. Nicki Minaj

This is by far one of the biggest hip-hop collaborations of the year. Burgeoning Bronx rapper Ice Spice gets an assist from the Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj, not more than a year into her mainstream success.

"Princess Diana" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, the highest charting song of Ice Spice at the coveted genre-blending singles chart before it got eclipsed by another huge collaboration - Karma with Taylor Swift.

'Flowers' - Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus' self-love anthem is one of the biggest songs of the year. The single for her album, "Endless Summer Vacation," has been on everyone's playlist this year. The catchy shade of Liam Hemsworth had everyone buying their own flowers for themselves.

The song debuted at the No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making it Cyrus' first song to debut at the summit. It lasted for eight nonconsecutive weeks at the top of the charts.

'Popular' - Madonna, The Weeknd, Playboi Carti

"Popular" is a mega collaboration between pop icon Madonna, The Weeknd, and Playboi Carti. The song was part of the soundtrack of the highly-controversial television series "The Idol," for which The Weeknd is a showrunner. Despite debuting only at No. 43, the song still made it into the Rolling Stone list.

'Hits Different' - Taylor Swift

Thanks to the "Midnights (Til Dawn Edition)," the Target-exclusive track "Hits Different" finally saw the light of day. The song was only released initially on the Target-exclusive edition of "Midnights," but it was widely raved about by fans online.

Eventually, the song debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
