Gene Simmons revealed the future of KISS as the band's End of the Road world tour nears its end.

KISS announced its highly-anticipated End of the Road world tour in 2018 and expected to end in 2021; however, it got delayed due to several issues. Now, the band will be wrapping up the world tour at the end of this year - and it might end its career, as well.

KISS To Call It Quits?

KISS fans' greatest fear after learning about End of the Road world tour might finally happen as Gene Simmons confirmed that he and his bandmates would be calling it quits for real this time.

During his new interview with the Australian news show The Sunday Project (via Guitar.com), Simmons explained why it would be best for them to end their career while they are on top.

"At a certain point, Mother Nature takes over no matter what your plans are," he said. "At a certain time, you've gotta have the dignity and pride but also the love and admiration of your fans to know when it's time to call it quits."

Simmons reflected on his, Paul Stanley, and their bandmates' endurance to that of an athlete, saying that the group does not want to "overstay" despite its continuous success. He noted that they have been boxers and bands staying in their respective spotlights for too long, explaining that the physical nature of a band affects its longevity in the music industry.

The KISS co-vocalist then suggested that they should quit while it is still good for them to do so.

KISS will be performing at the Rock Imperium in Cartagena, Spain, on June 25 and will visit more stages until the last two-day shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Dec. 1 and 2.

Paul Stanley Wants Kiss To Continue Without Him, Gene Simmons

Simmons' comment resonated with what Paul Stanley said in 2021 after launching the End of the Road world tour.

Currently, he and Simmons are the only original lineup members, and they have been playing with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer after they replaced original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, respectively.

Stanley shared his desire to see KISS continue without the original members during his interview with "Radio Bob!," suggesting that the band could evolve without them in it.
