Barr was met with backlash following her throwback post and eyebrow-raising caption.

"Uh, Roseanne you had multiple plastic surgeries during your time on TV. Lizzo is about body positivity and loving the skin you're in- without surgery," a netizen commented.

"You definitely helped the bigger girls however there were many before and will be many after you. How about celebrating with Lizzo rather than bashing? Women need to lift women up not down. Not hating freaking love you just wish you went about this [differently]."

Lizzo Embraces Body Positivity

Despite being generally well-loved, Lizzo has admitted on multiple occasions that haters have come after her, criticizing her body and her weight.

However, she just strives not to let it bother her. In a Tweet, she wrote: "I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of s**t I see about me on a daily basis.

"It's really starting to make me hate the world. Then someone in the comments said I eat 'lots of fast food.' I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO..."

She also noted that she is simply trying to live a healthy lifestyle instead of succumbing to societal standards.

"I'm literally just trying to live and be healthy. This is what my body looks like even when I'm eating super clean and working out!"

Meanwhile, fans rallied for Lizzo over on Twitter following Barr's comment: "Delusional white women constantly thinking they paved the way for black artists is always crazy. Lizzo has always thanked people who paved the way and inspired her. roseanne hasn't done anything remarkable with her career to want recognition like this."

"Try never, because Lizzo doesn't owe some racist, bigoted, anti-Semite s**t," another added, referencing Barr's other controversial and problematic statements.
