One Direction members have been embroiled in a public beef with Zayn Malik, but Liam Payne recently had an exchange with his former bandmate online.

The public feud between One Direction members, especially Malik and Louis Tomlinson, had infamous feuds on their social media accounts over the past years. While this somewhat proved the band's strained relationship, Payne and Malik just hyped One Direction fans with their recent interaction.

Liam Payne Supporting Zayn Malik's Solo Comeback Single?

Malik confirmed through his Spotify bio that he would be releasing his fourth solo album in December 2022 in partnership with his new agency, Mercury Records. He also wiped his Instagram page and uploaded two posts as of press time - both of which are parts of his upcoming music project.

In the comments section, the "Strip That Down" hitmaker showed his love for his former bandmate and his upcoming project by writing, "This sounds big already."

Fans got more excited as they saw Malik replying, "Appreciate it bro, thanks for the love."

Their recent interaction came after Payne previously told Logan Paul during his controversial interview that he has many reasons why he does not like Malik. Still, he clarified that he would always be on his side after his alleged dispute with Yolanda Hadid, Gigi Hadid's mother.

Malik pleaded no contest to the charges, and wrote "Nolo," short for Nolo Contendere (no contest) in his mail-in plea.

One Direction Will Not Return As a 5-Member Band?

Payne and Malik's exchange led fans to assume that a One Direction reunion with Malik would happen soon.

However, their former vocal coach Ali Tennant revealed in an interview with Metro UK that it would be hard to see One Direction with five members again since they already "blew up individually."

"We can obviously see Harry is the leader of the pack, but Niall is still doing well," the coach said, adding, "People are waiting for Liam to come back out, Louis is still doing his thing, they're all doing their thing."

He explained that the potential reunion would require a big discussion since they would be coming back for the fans and their love for each other instead of returning because of money.

Per Tennant, Malik has been excluded from that love, leading the potential 5-member reunion impossible now.
