Jessica Simpson has had her highs and lows with her health, and it has been a long and arduous journey since she gained back her sobriety.

However, these days, some netizens are concerned that the singer is getting too skinny-some might even say, suspiciously fast.

During her interview with Bustle, Simpson finally addressed the allegations and rumors about her using medication for diabetes and anti-obesity, Ozempic.

"Oh Lord. I mean, it is not [Ozempic]," She said. "It's willpower. I'm like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that's when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can't do it."

Jessica Simpson Chooses Sobriety

Despite being sober for quite some time now, the singer had not revealed her reasons behind her lifestyle change in November 2017, when she stopped drinking.

Last year, Simpson finally opened up about how she was so drunk that she could not even remember dressing her kids up for Halloween.

"When I stopped drinking, it was because I had stopped hearing the voice I really trusted, and I was lost without her," the singer explained.

Simpson shared that the huge reason behind the change was her children, "I was terrified of letting them see me in that shape [...] "I slept in, afraid to see them, afraid I had failed them. I hid until they left, then drank."

With six years of sobriety under her belt, Simpson is more confident with herself and her health.

"Am I going to let the negativity derail me?" She said about the Ozempic allegations. "No, I'm too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt."

What is Ozempic, What's It For?

According to USA Today, Ozempic is a drug that was intended to address obesity among people with Type-2 diabetes.

It keeps the person who is on the drug feeling full, thus limiting their food intake, and making them thinner in the process.

"The net result is decreased hunger, prolonged fullness and ultimately weight loss," said christopher McGowan, a gastroenterologist specializing in obesity medicine and endobariatrics interviewed by Forbes.

However, more sinister use of the drug has proliferated among celebrities and the wealthy in recent times.

Rumors say that some celebrities have taken the injectable in hopes of getting thinner, and Simpson was one of many who were accused of doing so.
