Miranda Lambert recently revealed a major loss in her life amid the negative reactions she had been receiving from social media fans after she called out a group of women taking selfies during her Las Vegas residency.

The country musician took to her official Instagram account to reveal that one her her beloved dogs named Thelma, a Great Pyrenees, has passed away.

The musician shared several photos of her beloved pet spending quality time with her. In the caption, she recalled the day when the dog was adopted.

She noted that she adopted two dogs in May 2016. Her other pet is named Louise, as an honor to Thelma and Louise. The musician revealed in the post that she owns a farm outside of Nashville and some of the animals in the property needed to be looked after and her two dogs did a great job of doing so.

"Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our sweet Thelma. She spent her days lounging in the barn and her nights keeping watch over all of us," she wrote. (via Billboard)

Lambert added that her dog spent the past eight years fully free on her own terms as she was not bound by any fences.

On the other hand, her surviving dog has already been retired from her farm duties and is currently spending time with her and her other pets.

"It hurts so bad to say goodbye to these sweet companions but their love is always worth it," she added.

The singer concluded her post by telling her millions of followers to not forget to love shelter pets. Lambert has been an advocate for shelter animals as she launched MuttNation Foundation more than ten years ago.

It was the same foundation that welcomed the two dogs.

The recent news comes after Miranda Lambert was embroiled in a controversy after she called out a group of fans taking selfies during her concert in Las Vegas as part of her residency in the city.

While performing one of her songs, the musician told the women, "I'm gonna stop right here for a second, I'm sorry... These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song."

She added that everyone who attended the show are there to hear country music. Fans all over social media were divided by her big move as some believe that it was inappropriate for her to call them out the way she did.
