Madonna has been able to keep the music coming in 2023 despite the flurry of activity around her The Celebration Tour preparations (which have now been postponed after she was admitted to the hospital with a severe infection).

In recent months, the renowned pop singer has consistently released new singles, working with A-listers like The Weeknd and Sam Smith. Maybe this is the real reason why she got so severely sick, to the point of nearly dying.

But then, Madonna is hardly new to a life of pure pressure.

She has produced more music than is immediately apparent this year, though, per Forbes.

Madonna has been discreetly presenting her most committed followers with a number of interesting new initiatives in between her high-profile endeavors.

The singer's relentless release schedule and the usefulness of her back catalog are both attested to by these projects, even though they may not have garnered much attention. Madonna quietly released not one, not two, but six different albums during the year 2023.

However, these are not your typical compilations of brand-new content. They are actually collections of remixes, with each one concentrating mostly on one or two songs and containing at least five (but most have many more) reworks.

While some EPs and full-length albums contain only one or two tracks, others feature many tracks. Some of the albums even contain semi-rare songs that were previously only on the overseas deluxe editions of her prior albums. Madonna started releasing four of these remix albums in quick succession starting in March.

The nine-song "Ray of Light" remix CD started the spree on March 3. The Burning Up/Physical Attraction EP was released on March 9-six days later. The "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" remix collection was released to fans on March 17, and on March 31 an album containing nine distinct renditions of "Nothing Really Matters" was released.

Madonna didn't let up in April, thrilling her fans on April 21 with the release of American Life (The Remixes), an eight-track album.

The pop sensation then turned her attention to her new singles, "Popular" with The Weeknd and Playboy Carti, and "Vulgar" with Sam Smith. This resulted in a subtle shift in focus. Both songs did well on several Billboard charts, with "Popular" continuing to hold a prominent position to this day.

Madonna returned to the remix genre in the middle of July with Hollywood (Remixes), which launched on streaming services on July 14. These remix EPs and albums offer various versions of the same song to appeal to dance enthusiasts and super fans.

The releases occasionally feature not just one remixer's interpretation of a piece, but a number of them, including longer versions and other specialized adaptations. These remix CDs have a different aim than to help Madonna climb the ranks once more.

Their main goal is to revitalize her old catalog, a project she has been working on for a while. These fresh releases allow Madonna to appease her ardent fans while also ensuring that her music continues to bring in royalties as she simultaneously works on other new endeavors like more singles and her eagerly awaited tour.
