John Connolly became the latest Sevendust member to open up about the band's retirement and disbandment rumors.

The buzz started after Sevendust member, Morgan Rose revealed in an interview that the band started the discussions regarding the time they would "close the curtains." Several band members already debunked the reports that emerged after the interview, saying that the group has no plans to end its career yet.

Sevendust Members Unsure If They Ever Want To Retire

Speaking in an interview with Loaded Radio's Scott Penfold, Connolly answered the query about whether he and his bandmates thought of retiring soon. Far from what Rose said, the guitarist revealed that he even does not have an idea whether they would ever end what they have.

"I don't know if we ever really wanna retire, but we also sort of want people to, you know," he said. "Don't expect us to show up in the year 2025 and play 250 shows."

He, however, opened up about everyone's desire to spend more time with their families though it would not mean they would spend less time on tour. Before his recent interview, he also told KNAC.com in 2022 that the band would not disband but move into a different model instead.

Connolly's statement resonated with what Lajon Witherspoon told Metal Hammer, saying that Sevendust's end would happen but "not right now."

In fact, Sevendust had plans for its career but the COVID-19 pandemic reportedly slowed things down for the group. After a long wait, the band will finally drop its upcoming album, "Truth Killer," on July 28 via Napalm Records.

Where Did Sevendust's Retirement Rumors Start?

The clarifications came after Rose's interview where he opened up about farewell tours and said that "not many" were left to offer.

"I'll just tell you that," he said. "I'm gonna be the one to let all the cats out of the bag, but I can just tell you that we're not gonna be around, full-fledged, forever, that's for sure."

The host then asked him about farewell tours that sparked disbandment rumors, to which Rose admitted it was always difficult for him to say goodbye since the topic always made him emotional.
