After beefing with her own fans, Doja Cat announced that she is releasing a new song "Paint the Town Red," and it was not well-received online by netizens and fans.

"Bet she wish she acted differently over the past weeks," one wrote.

"We don't want it," another added.

"[I don't know] if I can stream I'm too busy helping my parents clean the house," another wrote, taking a jab at Doja Cat's previous message to her fans, telling them to "get a job."

Doja Cat Gets Canceled By Her Own Fans

According to reports, the beef between the "Say So" rapper began when she called out her fans for naming themselves "kittenz."

"If you call yourself a 'Kitten' or f*cking 'Kittenz' that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house," Doja Cat wrote on Threads.

In another post that reads "my life my rules my attitude," a fan commented, asking the rapper to tell them she loves them, but she rebuked it and replied, "I don't though cuz I don't even know yall."

Another account responded to Doja Cat, "and we don't know you, but we have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you, you'd be nothing without us.

"You'd be working at a grocery store making songs on f**king garage band, Miss high school drop out."

The "Freaky Deaky" rapper replied, "nobody forced you. [I don't know' why you're talking to me like you're my mother, b***h. You sound like a crazy person."

Since the interaction, Doja Cat has deactivated her Threads account, and lost over 200,000 followers on Instagram.

Doja Cat Might Need Her Fans For The New Album

Doja Cat has not issued any further statements regarding the beef with her fans, but their interaction has sparked some sort of online debate about parasocial relationships between artists and their fans.

Several fans admitted that artists "don't owe fans anything outside surface level respect," however, Doja Cat crossed a line.

"It's a 50/50 thing, you know? I respect you for what you do, and you respect me in return for that support," explained the person behind fan account @thekittensroom, to NBC News.

"[...] It just felt like such an out of nowhere thing for her to say considering her attitudes towards it just last year were positive. When we met last year, she expressed love for the page."

Doja Cat might face some trouble in the future with her upcoming album rolling out, especially since it seems like no one wants to listen to her music anymore.
