Lana Del Rey penned her now-infamous "Question For The Culture" letter on May 2020. She has since then received backlash for the alleged racial undertones of her letter that seemingly targeted women of color.

In the post, she complained of the double standard in music where it was okay to sing about cheating and sex while she received flak for allegedly singing about "glamorizing abuse?"

Lana Del Rey 'Question For The Culture' Explained

In May 2020, Del Rey wrote this:

"Now that Doja Cat, Ariana (Grande), Camila (Cabello), Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj, and Beyoncé have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, (expletive), cheating, etc - can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money - or whatever I want - without being crucified or saying that I'm glamorizing abuse?"

At the time, she complained that she was fed up with people criticizing her for writing about her life experiences. She also pointed out the unfair criticisms that she sent back women a hundred years just because of the minor lyrical exploration of her rather submissive and passive roles in her relationships.

Lana Del Rey 'Question For The Culture' Taking Effect In 2023?

Fast forward to today, events in pop culture seemed to have impacted a lot of women lately. Most notably, Doja Cat was being thrashed by her own fanbase after she became angry about how they wanted to be called. Since then, fan accounts have deactivated themselves online, and expressed their dismay over her.

After that, Ariana Grande was labeled "homewrecker" after rumors of her and "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater entering into a relationship destroyed the latter's marriage with her wife.

Camila Cabello was then reported to be the reason for Rosalia and Rauw Alejandro's breakup and their engagement being called off.

For those who are still not seeing it, the artists that Lana Del Rey mentioned in her post seemed to be suffering one by one from their own respective issues and drama three years later.

May it be a coincidence or not, the chronological order of how their dramas unfolded raised eyebrows.

Notably, Cardi B was splashed with a drink while on stage. Kehlani, on the other hand, broke her leg after watching a Beyonce 'Renaissance' concert over the weekend. However, the latter seemed to be debunked by some people.

Very recently, Nicki Minaj was swatted again at her Los Angeles home, with an anonymous tipper calling 911 claiming that there was someone shot in her house.

Now, fans are waiting if Beyonce would be impacted by it too. Notably, Lana Del Rey confirmed in a 2017 interview that she practices witchcraft with then-President Donald Trump being one of her subjects before.
