Sinead O'Connor passed away on Jul. 26, 2023, after a long battle with her mental health problems.
Based on the recent Billboard charts, Sinead O'Connor gained the biggest streaming week of her music career.
Sinead O'Connor Music Experienced Steaming Surge
According to Billboard, Sinead O'Connor's discography has already earned 7.9 million official streams from the Jul. 21-27 tracking week. She experienced a bump of 774% from 901,000 streams in the Jul. 14-20 tracking week.
Comparing the streaming activity days before her death to two days after her death, her discography surged to 7.3 million streams from 243,000, totaling 2885%.
Luminate also reported that digital downloads of her songs recorded 17,000 from Jul. 21 to 27, 2023, which was a 5348% increase from a week before.
As for her albums, O'Connor collectively earned 11,000 album equivalent units from Jul. 21 to 27, 2023 - a huge bump of 1346% from a thousand units the week before. 4,000 were album sales on the said 11,000 units.
Given that it was the biggest streaming week of Sinead O'Connor's music career, her songs also became visible on various Billboard charts.

Sinead O'Connor 'Nothing Compares 2 U'
Notably, "Nothing Compares 2 U" returned to the Rock Digital Song Sales and Alternative Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1 with 10,000 copies sold. The song also charted at No. 10 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart with 3.2 million streams, along with its sales.
Notably, Billboard reported that this was not the first time the song re-appeared on the charts following its release in 1990. The song reigned for four weeks in 1990 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was her only chart leader.
"Madinka" and "The Emperor's New Clothes" also reached No. 16 and No. 17 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales and the Rock Digital Song Sales at No. 24 and No. 25.
"The Emperor's New Clothes" was also her second entry to the Billboard Hot 100, it only ranked No. 60 at the time.
Sinead O'Connor Autopsy Update
As of this writing, Sinead O'Connor's cause of death has not yet been revealed. Per the coroner, he has already concluded the autopsy and the body will be turned over to the family. If only an inquest will be requested on O'Connor's, then the cause of death will only be publicized.
