Ricky Martin married Jwan Yosef back in 2018 and share four children together, but they shocked their fans when they suddenly announced that they would be divorcing.
In a joint statement released via social media, the couple wrote: "For some time, we have considered transforming our relationship, and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children - preserving and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all of these wonderful years.
"Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on our genuine friendship as we continue the joint upbringing of our children."
Apparently, though, while the news may come as a surprise to fans, the truth behind their marriage is something that only Martin and Yosef know, because the divorce has been in the works for years already.

According to reports, after weeks of speculation on what could have caused their marriage to end, the Grammy Award winner finally opened up about his impending divorce.
"When the public found out, we had already gone through a grieving process," he said in an interview. "We look into each other's eyes and smile, we hug each other, and we go through the ups and downs, we cry together, and we laugh together."
The "Viva La Vida Loca" singer also added, "Jwan and I will always be family. We have two children together that we will raise together. This didn't just happen. We've been planning this situation for a while now - pre-pandemic."

Ricky Martin Romantic Relationship with Nephew?
The news of Martin's divorce comes several months after the news of his alleged romantic relationship with his own nephew.
The singer and his legal team have vehemently denied all allegations: "The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts."
However, the correlation between the two has not been discussed by the singer or Yosef, so fans are left to speculate about whatever they think caused the divorce.
