Katy Perry just teased that she will be releasing an album soon during one of her Las Vegas residency shows, by subtly shading her previous album releases.

"If you can't love me at my 'Witness' and 'Smile' era, then you can't love me in my KP6 era," the singer said, wearing an orange and yellow figure-hugging dress.

Perry has not released a new album in three years, since "Smile," and unlike her other releases like "One of the Boys" and "Teenage Dream," it has not performed quite as well, which is probably why she mentioned it.

The announcement was met with mixed reactions: excitement from her fans, of course, but other netizens did not seem to care too much.

Perhaps the "California Gurls" singer's time away from music has affected her impact, as she has been a judge on "American Idol," and her stint there has been marred with controversy.

Katy Perry Drops Clues About New Album

According to reports. Perry has been dropping hints that she is gearing up for a new album for quite some time now.

During her "Good Morning America" appearance, she was seen wearing a huge butterfly ring. The butterfly holds significance to both the singer and her fans, who allude that they indicate that Perry is ready to transition into a new era of her music.

"I don't know if you noticed, but at the end of Roar's presentation, a bunch of butterflies appeared and this is just one of the symbols Katy has been using the most lately. I bet the next era is coming and it will have everything to do with this them," a fan tweeted, which the singer liked.

Katy Perry Embroiled in Legal Battles

Fans were initially worried that the "Wide Awake" singer might not be releasing music any time soon, especially since she is currently embroiled in some legal issues.

According to reports, she has a lot on her plate; aside from her music and "American Idol" projects, she is also a mother.

"I know that I haven't put any new material out since my Darling Daisy," Perry said. "But I think that I'm writing songs a lot and have written a lot from a place of love, because I'm feeling so much of unconditional love, that I never knew existed."

The legal battle is rooted in the new home Perry and her fiance, Orlando Bloom, purchased back in 2020. The couple bought the mansion for $15 million, but the previous owner, an 83-year-old, decided to sue them as he claimed that he was not in the right mind when he sold it in the first place.

As of this writing, the legal battle between the couple and the previous owner of the mansion is yet to be resolved, but it seems like Perry is still ready to move forward with her life.
