It's been over a year since Ashley Judd found her mother, Naomi Judd, wounded from a gunshot and took her own life.

In search of healing for her aching heart, the actress has left the comfort of Tennessee in the hope of new beginnings, according to sources who spoke with Radar Online.

Since April 2022, when her mother Naomi ended her life at age 76 on their Franklin, Tennessee, property, the 55-year-old actress has been unable to remain in that house.

Making a difficult decision, Ashley reportedly has decided to rent her house for $10,000 monthly.

A source close to the Hollywood A-lister said her therapist suggested this action to help cope with Naomi Judd's suicide.

"Therapy has been vital for Ashley," they stated. "One thing her therapist proposed was to make a change and get started on a fresh start."

As the "Olympus Has Fallen" actress faced the fateful day that would bring about her mother's suicide, it was clear to see that Naomi had been dealing with mental health issues prior.

An inside source has reported that the tragic event still impacts Ashley significantly, as she blames herself for being unable to stop it. "She still blames herself!" said the source.

In her interview with the New York Times, Ashley Judd recounted how she had been experiencing intensely distressing nightmares and random outbursts of tears during sleep due to traumatic flashbacks surrounding her mother's death.

She expressed feeling overpowered by these horrific reminders, noting that "trauma took up all of the space inside me."

Sources confirmed that to cope with her suffering, Ashley has decided to head back to Los Angeles and start afresh on her professional career journey as soon as possible, leaving behind a place filled with painful memories.

A source close to the matter revealed that Larry Strickland, who currently lives on the property, is close with Ashley.

Despite worrying he'd think she was leaving him behind, her stepfather reassured her that he would be fine, allowing her to move forward and make a life for herself.

Desperately wanting a new beginning, an insider revealed that "Ashley desires to return to Hollywood and create a different life for herself, rather than continually experience the tragedy of her late mother's death."
