Doja Cat is releasing a new album called "Scarlet," and she is not the slightest bit worried that her upcoming album's performance might be affected because of her animosity towards her own fans.

In fact, the singer doubled down on the hate. The "Say So" singer took to Instagram to express herself on losing thousands of followers on Instagram and other social media platforms.

"Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I've defeated a large best," she wrote. "That's been holding me down for so long and it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was."

"I feel free," she added.

Former fans and netizens were appalled by the singer's admission and expressed her disappointment through disgruntled tweets.

"But we don't know her as a person so how can we love her? It was her own logic right so why is she contradicting herself," a user wrote.

"How are her fans supposed to love her if they don't know her?"

"You can't treat ya fans like shyt then blame them for not being real," another added.

Doja Cat Hates Her Fans?

The drama between Doja Cat and her fans began several weeks back when a fan asked the singer if she could tell them she loves them.

She rebuked the fan, and dismissed them by mocking the fandom name "Kittenz." Several accounts that support the singer deactivated their accounts since then.

Some wonder if the singer is simply going through a phase or maybe even a psychotic break. However, both theories are unfounded.

Doja Cat Going on Tour

According to reports, Doja Cat just announced "The Scarlet" tour which is in support of her upcoming album.

The "Kiss Me More" singer will be accompanied by Ice Spice and Doechii. The tour will commence in October in San Francisco with Doechii as the supporting guest.

Ice Spice will then substitute as the opening act until Doja Cat finishes the tour in December in Chicago.

With Doja Cat pushing her fans away, many wonder if the singer slash rapper will be able to sell out her venues.

Not only is she facing backlash for hating on fans, but she is also being criticized for dating an alleged pedophile.

"She defended her boyfriend who got accused of abuse and she turned the backlash into an empowerment story I'm crying," a fan wrote.

"How she felt saying this and then going back to dating her pedo groomer bf."
