Agnetha Fältskog, known for her time in the band ABBA, is reviving her solo career at 73 years old.

BMG has picked up the artist, just as they have done recently, with music superstar Kylie Minogue, who is 55.

This year, after a 10-year hiatus, the Swedish singer-songwriter plans to release her long-awaited album.

Her return to music two years ago was for an Abba reunion that sparked renewed interest in their classic hits.

Agnetha's return to the studio with Abba paid off in a big way; "Voyage," the band's #1 album, sold over 2.5 million copies and was up for five Grammies.

An unnamed source close to Agnetha revealed to The Sun that in anticipation of Agnetha's return, she created an Instagram post with the enigmatic words "Where Do We Go From Here?". Her previous album, "A," was released in 2013 and peaked at the number six position on the UK charts.

"She has been in regular contact for months with the team at BMG in London and they have helped develop her new sound."

The source went on to say, "After a long time working on new music, there is finally a body of work which she loves and which is ready for release."

This year marks a remarkable 55 years since her groundbreaking self-titled debut album was released in Swedish before Abba's fame.

Despite this milestone, she has yet to plan to perform any of her new material live.

When asked about concerts back in 2013, she had stated, "That's my weakest [thing], the live thing. And also the fact I'm older now, so I can't do that."

November 2021 saw the release of ABBA's ninth studio album, "Voyage."

This collaboration was produced by Jörgen Elofsson and Peter Nordahl and marked the band's final outing as a quartet before their eventual break-up.

40 years had passed without a new album of material from Benny and Björn, but all that changed in 2020. Consisting of ten original tracks, this was the first album not to feature longtime members Rutger Gunnarsson on bass and Ola Brunkert on drums.

When she was just 19, Agnetha first encountered her future husband Bjorn, whom she soon married in 1971.

The couple had two children together before the marriage ended, and Abba experienced their most notable success.

Indeed, after winning Eurovision in 1974 at Brighton, the Swedish quartet sold a remarkable 350 million records worldwide, not least with their "Abba Gold" compilation album staying in the charts for more than 400 weeks.
