Sofia Coppola just released her newest masterpiece, "Priscilla," a biopic about Elvis Presley's wife, Priscilla Presley.

Before it was even released, the director was warned by Presley's manager that the film would definitely upset the legendary singer's hardcore and die-hard fans.

"Priscilla's manager said, 'The Elvis fans are not going to like certain things,'" she shared in an interview. "I said, 'I'm not making it for them.'"

The upcoming film stars Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi; it was adapted from Priscilla's 1985 bestseller memoir, "Elvis and Me."

"I had looked at Elvis and Me maybe 10 years ago... But, on reading it again, it spoke to me," Coppola said. "[...] All those stages of transition, from girlhood to adult womanhood. I felt it was relatable."

Priscilla Presley Addresses Controversial Age Gap

According to reports, one of the most glaring things about Presley and Elvis' relationship was their sizeable age gap. He met her when she was just 14 years old.

"It was very difficult for my parents to understand that Elvis would be so interested in me and I really do think because I was more of a listener, Elvis would pour his heart out to me, his fears, his hopes, the loss of his mother which he never ever got over, and I was the person who really really sat there to listen and to comfort him," she said about the controversy, denying that their relationship was not based on sex.

However, she did not deny that her relationship with the "Can't Help Falling in Love" singer was nowhere close to being ordinary, which is probably why the film moved her to tears.

"It's very difficult to sit and watch a film about you and about your life and about your love," Presley said. "Sofia did an amazing job, she did her homework... And I really put everything out for her that I could."

Priscilla Presley Details Love Story with Elvis Presley

Despite eventually separating, Presley insisted that it was the rocker's lifestyle that deterred her and made her leave.

She claimed that despite the separation, she tried to make it work as co-parents to Lisa Marie.

"So, we built a relationship and then our relationship went on until I left. And it wasn't because I didn't love him - he was the love of my life," she said.

"It was the lifestyle that was so difficult for me, and I think any woman can relate to that. But it didn't mar our relationship, we still remained very close. And of course, we had our daughter, and I made sure that he saw her all the time. It was like we never left each other."
