Stern paid tribute to Buffett on the new episode of "The Howard Stern Show" and spoke to co-host Robin Quivers about the singer's cause of death.

"The guy loved the outdoor life. He loved being outdoors. And guess what killed him? Skin cancer," he said. "That's f----- up. He had a rare skin cancer."

An official obituary on his website confirmed that he died after his battle with a rare and aggressive skin cancer called Merkel cell skin cancer. It usually begins as a red and shiny nodule in one's body part, including hands, face or neck, caused by sun exposure and weak immune system.

He called Buffett a wild and interesting person as he shared the story about a pal who invited the "Margaritaville" hitmaker down to the Florida Keys where he enjoyed "the land and sea." At that time, Buffett reportedly told his friend that: "I know whatever I do - This lifestyle has to fit around it.'"

Far from what Buffett wanted, Stern said he only enjoys sitting in the house and not going out.

Why Howard Stern and Jimmy Buffett Never Met Revealed

Elsewhere in the episode, the host revealed he lived near Buffett and spent his time waiting to be invited to his home. However, it never happened.

Stern admitted that the reason behind it might be because of the "s----- stuff" he previously said about his music on the radio because he was not a big Parrothead.

"I don't mean this in any disparaging way. He seems like a real nice guy. And anyone who can make a hit song I admire, but I wasn't really into Margaritaville. I guess, I don't like it," he continued. "You know, it doesn't move me in the way that music normally does. It's a catchy tune, though.

Buffett, 76, died on September 1 surrounded by his family and friends.
