Bruce Springsteen is said to have avoided "something worse" from happening to him amid his health issue by canceling his shows.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have a full-packed schedule this year due to their ongoing tours, although they postponed several shows over the past months due to the singer's health issue.

In the recent cancelation, the band revealed that the singer is struggling with peptic ulcer disease, and a source recently revealed that the move was made to prevent something worse.

Bruce Springsteen Is Not Dying

A source recently squashed the rumors about Springsteen's alleged status after several fake news websites shared an obituary and similar reports. The insider told Daily Mail that the singer is not dead and not dead yet, saying that he remains positive as he ensures his fans know what has been going on with him.

"Bruce is in amazing shape and with this setback, it just sucks because once Bruce is on tour, he fully encompasses himself with it," the insider continued, adding, "It is who he is, so this bump in the road frustrates the h--- out of him, but his stubborn nature was nurtured by his band mates and wife who convinced him to get healthy now so something worse doesn't happen down the line."

The same insider noted the issues he went through over the years, including his multiple bouts against COVID-19 and another health problem that led to the cancelation of their August shows.

His peptic ulcer disease only occurred weeks ago, and the source noted how it takes a toll on someone his age.

Springsteen, now 73, reportedly received advice from his wife Patti Scialfa and the band to take a break and focus on his recovery. That way, he could prevent his health from deteriorating.

The source also said that he has not been the same since he underwent throat surgery in 2013, as the procedure "had an impact" on his overall well-being.

Due to the continuous issues that he has faced, everyone around him told him not to push himself amid their shows.

Amid his recuperation, Springsteen is reportedly devastated and heartbroken now that he cannot perform for his fans for a while. Although his disease does not sound serious, it can require a lengthier surgery if it worsens.

Still, the musician assured his fans they would return soon to continue the blast at their U.S. shows.
