Voyager postponed its upcoming tour after its lead singer, Danny Estrin, discovered heartbreaking news.

The progressive metal band spent the past few months productively having different shows and activities. It captured the world's attention when it represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest and finished ninth.

Voyager also gave fans new music through the eighth studio album, "Fearless in Love", in July and the single "Ultraviolet."

However, the band members need to take a break after their lead singer's heartbreaking diagnosis.

What Happened to Danny Estrin?

In a lengthy message on Voyager's official X page, Estrin revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. The health issue led him and the band to postpone their upcoming schedule as his doctors gave him strict orders since he should not take the diagnosis lightly.

The vocalist will also need time to prepare himself before his surgery.

"In the coming weeks, I will focus on my health and family and ask that everyone please respect our privacy," he continued. "I truly value and appreciate everyone's support and understanding during this time. I'm surrounded by my incredible bandmates and team who are navigating all things Voyager whilst I am out of action."

He announced through the same message that their upcoming tour would be rescheduled to October 2024, expressing their hopes that fans would keep their tickets. However, those who cannot make it to the new dates can opt to request a refund at the point of sale.

Voyager's last performance before its break will occur on Sunday, September 24, at the America's Cup event in Fremantle, Western Australia. Estrin will start his treatment afterward.

He did not disclose what type of cancer he has been suffering from, but his health issue came after the band reached another breakthrough when it submitted "Promise" to the Eurovision Song contest earlier this year. The track dominated European countries and led Voyager to savor its first-ever entry on the U.K. Singles Chart.

"I think this is the year for heavy music and rock music to really shine like it probably hasn't really ever before at Eurovision. So I'm very, very excited from that perspective," Estrin previously told Rolling Stone AU/NZ.

Their fans, meanwhile, left heartfelt messages on the comment section to wish Estrin well as they wait for his return to the stage soon.

"You have absolutely so, seriously got this," one said. "Keep that mind like a steel trap brother. I went through the ringer myself (in a much different, totally not-comparable way) and health sh-- can drive you nuts, so you ever wanna rant or chat or legit anything, please DM. Love u."

"We'll support you every step of the way Danny!! Here's to your speedy recovery with lots of everlasting love from the UK," another wrote.
