Fans who already bought their tickets were looking forward to seeing Bruce Springsteen perform live, but they were met with a shocking announcement after the musician revealed that his scheduled shows were not pushing through anymore.

According to USA Today, the legendary musician took to his official Instagram account to reveal that his shows this September will not move forward due to a medical condition.

In a statement, the singer revealed that he continued recovering from "peptic ulcer disease" over the past few weeks and would continue receiving treatment over the next few months.

"All remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024," he wrote in the caption.

He later assured his supporters that the rescheduled dates for all of the 2023 shows will be released next week and all concerts would still take place at their original venues.

For those fans who couldn't attend the rescheduled show, they have an option to get a refund from their respective ticket companies and they only have 30 days to request.

On the other hand, all tickets that were initially purchased will still be honored for the shows next year.

"I'm on the mend and can't wait to see you all next year," he added.

What Is Peptic Ulcer Disease?

Upon finding out about the news, fans of Bruce Springsteen expressed their concern about the singer's health and most of them are curious what peptic ulcer disease is.

According to Mayo Clinic, peptic ulcers are open sores that develop on the interior lining of a person's stomach as well as the top portion of the small intestine.

Some of the most common symptoms are feeling of fullness, heartburn, nausea, burning stomach pain, and more. Stomach acids also makes the pain even worst for some cases.

Is Peptic Ulcer Disease Curable?

According to Cleveland Clinic, ulcers are curable for most people and there are treatments readily available for patients who suffer from this medical condition.

However, the website noted that it could reoccur especially if the H. pylori bacterial infection isn't fully removed from a person's system or if the patient continue to smoke.

For patients, it would take a couple of weeks of treatment for an ulcer to heal.
