"Only Murders In The Building" is one of the most-watched series right now on Disney+ and Hulu. The critically acclaimed series saw the rather unusual combination of two comedy veterans Martin Short and Steve Martin with Selena Gomez.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series is Gomez's only ongoing project in television so far. Gomez, who has been a child star, teen star, and popstar, was perceived by many to have a diva attitude.

Martin Short also thought the same when he first interacted with the actress.

Martin Short's First Impression On Selena Gomez

In an interview with People Magazine during Selena Gomez's inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit on Oct. 4, 2023, Martin Short revealed that when she first interacted with her, he thought differently.

"The first day we shot, I had never met Selena. Because of COVID, we'd only Zoomed," Short remembered, adding that when he "was driving to work and I thought, I wonder what Selena's could be like? I mean, she could be a nightmare. She could be a pop princess nightmare."

Eventually, Short and Gomez clicked. Their on-screen banter and chemistry transcends to real life.

"Right away - from the first second we started to the makeup room - it was, like, fabulous," he raved about Gomez. As for her acting prowess and professionalism, he mentioned that the actress was "always on time, always knows her lines. So good, so talented, such a pro - it's fabulous."

Short and Gomez have been good friends since they worked together on "Only Murders in The Building." The show's season 3 is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. However, because of the ongoing Actor's Strike on Hollywood, Gomez was unable to promote the show due to the strike rules.
