Jamie Spears, the estranged 71-year-old father of Britney Spears, is currently in the hospital.

Sadly, his condition is quite severe as he suffers from a nasty infection that ultimately requires surgery for treatment.

His 41-year-old daughter's fans are reportedly celebrating this news. After all, it was Jamie who put Britney under a 13-year conservatorship originally.

It has been confirmed that Jamie is in a bad state, with the family insider revealing he's "severely ill".

According to Page Six, who spoke to the source on Thursday night, it appears his condition involves an infection that necessitated surgery - requiring him to stay hospitalized in a special infectious disease facility for numerous weeks now.

Although Britney has yet to comment on her father's medical condition, her fans have unfortunately taken pleasure in the news.

A user posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, "I'm delighted to hear it. Sending out tons of negative vibes his way."

One individual expressed their desire for justice, posting "May hell take control of him and make sure that the devil punishes him accordingly."

Another echoed this sentiment in agreement and believes his hospitalization is a call for action. "Conservatorship is the only way we can ensure that he doesn't harm himself and his career. He does not want to be away from his kids so this is for his own good," they declared.

New information has come to light following the recent report indicating that Britney is angry with her sister, Jaime Lynn.

Apparently, their father had recently attempted a stint in rehab for his alcoholism but ultimately failed. In response, Jaime Lynn allowed him to live with her and this decision incensed Britney.

A source shared with Daily Mail saying, "She feels betrayed that her sister is putting up her dad and allowing him to watch her kids after what he did to her."

This past summer, it was reported that Jaime entered a 30-day treatment program.

According to an individual aware of the situation, "He recently exited rehab but is now drinking again - causing concern for Lynne and his sister, Jaime Lynn."

More recently, the public has noticed a concerning decline in the overall health of Britney's father, namely regarding his weight loss.

It has been reported that he appeared "extremely thin" following health complications from a knee replacement procedure several years ago. Sources have stated that he has lost over 25 pounds since then.
