A series of revelations have been released prior to the debut of Britney Spears' highly anticipated "The Woman in Me" memoir, which is slated to be released on Oct. 24.

Among the numerous stories the "Oops I Did It Again" singer revealed was what happened to her while she was filming for the 2002 movie "Crossroads."

"The experience wasn't easy for me. My problem wasn't with anyone involved in the production but with what acting did to my mind," she wrote.

Apparently, Spears unintentionally began Method acting while she was filming the movie, and ended up doing it for months, without any sort of control over it.

"I think I started Method acting - only I didn't know how to break out of my character. I really became this other person. Some people do Method acting, but they're usually aware of the fact that they're doing it. But I didn't have any separation at all."

Britney Spears on Method Acting For 'Crossroads'

While Spears' acting career was short-lived, it was clear that she struggled with Method acting and it affected her life in different ways, like how she walked, talked, and how she carried herself.

"I was someone else for months while I filmed Crossroads. Still to this day, I bet the girls I shot that movie with think, She's a little...quirky. If they thought that, they were right."

The entire thing was so concerning to her that when she finally stopped filming and eventually returned to her normal self, she felt so relieved.

"I imagine there are people in the acting field who have dealt with something like that, where they had trouble separating themselves from a character."

Britney Spears Reflects on Short-Lived Acting Career

Elsewhere in the excepts revealed that Spears was a contender for "The Notebook," for the character Allie, a role which Rachel McAdams landed.

"'The Notebook' casting came down to me and Rachel McAdams, and even though it would have been fun to reconnect with Ryan Gosling after our time on the 'Mickey Mouse Club,' I'm glad I didn't do it," Spears wrote.

"If I had, instead of working on my album 'In the Zone' I'd have been acting like a 1940s heiress day and night."

She also reflected on the "occupational hazard" of being an actress, noting that "living that way [...] is messed up."

"The Woman in Me" will also tackle several different aspects to the singer's career and life, including the infamous conservatorship.
