It has been years since the feud between Madonna and Cher but in an October 20 interview with the Los Angeles Times, she certainly did not leave any details out.

Cher quickly responded to the question of any animosity between her and the "Vogue" hitmaker.

"It's not a beef at all," she said with a smirk, "In fact, I quite like her. But come on."

Interjecting to probe further, "Are you saying she's mean?" was asked of Cher by a journalist. With a nod and a slight smile, she replied, "She can be."

Cher added, "We buried that hatchet long ago because I called her something so much worse, and she forgave me."

In 1991, during an interview with the iconic singer and actress, Cher clarified her opinion of Madonna.

She labeled the queen of pop as the "C" word. "I don't like that," she continued. "She's mean. I remember having her over to my house several times because [Sean Penn] and I were friends, and she was so rude to everybody. It seems she had no reason to behave that way given all she possesses."

However, Cher had clear words for those with great success. "When someone has accomplished a certain level of success, they should use their new-found freedom to show kindness and generosity - not behave like an egotistical brat all the time," Cher said. "That's my opinion; it just seems right to me."

Following her comments regarding their previous disagreement, Cher did share her admiration to Madonna's longstanding accomplishments.

The "Material Girl" has been a staple in the music industry for many years, and Cher couldn't help but share her adoration.

"But I give her this: No one like her had their ear to the ground and knew everything before anybody else," Cher said. "She knew what was coming, and she was right on it. I always felt that was her greatest gift - that she could know the trends before any of us."

Meanwhile, when gushing about her relationship with Alexander Edwards, the 37-year-old object of Cher's affection, the "I Got You Babe" singer beamed joyfully.

The reporter interviewing her noted her enormous diamond ring that she pointed out with a grand gesture.

"The gift I received last Christmas was from him," stated the Grammy Award recipient. Though she had a diamond sparkling on her finger, Cher clarified that it was not an engagement ring.
