Bruce Springsteen has suffered a lot in the past few weeks because of his medical condition. This prompted the legendary musician to cancel the remainder of his tour and other commitments to give way for his recovery and treatment.

Very recently, his wife, singer-songwriter Patti Scialfa, was inducted at the New Jersey Hall of Fame - and Springsteen paid a surprise visit!

These include Tiki Barker, Sue Wicks, David Chase, Tony Orlando, Finn Wentwroth, Josh Weston, Steve Adubato, Sr., Charles Edison, George Shultz, George Segal and Dorothy Porter Wesley, among many others.

The Boss spoke at length - recalling the time he met the love of his life at the historic music club The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

"I met Patti at Stone Pony. Where else? She was sitting in with the house band, Cats on a Smooth Surface, and I heard that voice of hers and I wondered, 'Who is that girl?' I went to find out," he said, sending the place swooning.

Bruce further raved about her better half - now talking about how she became an instrumental member of the E Street Band as one of his backing vocal singers.

"The E Street Band was good at many things, but singing harmony was not one of them," he recalled. "So when I met Patti, I felt like I found my secret weapon. In 1984, I asked her to join the E Street Band."

Patti Scialfa More Famous If She Didn't Married Bruce Springsteen?

Elsewhere in his speech, Bruce Springsteen even joked that his wife would have been even more successful if she hadn't married him - talking more about how she is a great artist on her own and a lyrical genius.

"She went on to record and produce with Steve Jordan, her second album, 23rd St. Lullaby and third record, Play as it Lays, once again co-producing with Steve Jordan and Ron Anello, and both are wonderful pieces of work which if she hadn't been married to some suck-the-air-out-of-the-room attention whore, they would have be much more widely known," he revealed.

Springsteen and Scialfa tied the knot in 1991. They have three children - Evan James, Jessica Rae, and Samuel Ryan.
