Amy Winehouse's dad Mitch, a taxi driver, is taking legal action against two of his late daughter's friends, claiming they took profits from the sale of her items unfairly.

Mitch has filed a High Court request to recover money on behalf of the foundation established in honor of the singer, according to The Sun.

He alleged that Catriona Gourlay and Naomi Parry benefited financially from an auction in Beverly Hills in 2021. This event raised £3.3million, with the most expensive lot being a dress designed by Naomi.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation informed the outlet that Catriona and Naomi had disposed of further objects that once belonged to the "Rehab" hitmaker.

It was revealed that her written compositions were also included among the items sold. Furthermore, thirty percent of the funds raised by this auction were donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

A spokesperson recently announced that two individuals had put several Amy-related items up for auction, which ultimately earned them both six-figure sums.

As such, should any monies be recovered from either defendant, they will directly benefit to support Amy Winehouse Foundation.

However, the estate has yet to receive satisfactory answers on how those items came into their possession and is thus launching a legal process to uncover the truth.

In 2021, a book about Amy Winehouse's life was released; Catriona wrote one of its chapters.

On a BBC documentary about her and Amy, Catriona shared that she felt their bond transcended words and described it as "unique"; Mitch then added that his daughter had always been content with Catriona regardless of their relationship type.
