A few weeks ago, Britney Spears shook the entertainment industry after she released her highly-anticipated memoir titled "A Woman In Me." Some contents of the book feature bombshell revelations about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

More recently, the 'NSYNC singer's good pal, Timbaland, made an insensitive comment about the pop superstar, and online fans are not happy about his choice of words.

According to Page Six, the record producer, who attended the "Sound Architects: A Producer Conversation" at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, reacted on the memoir, saying he was tempted to call Timberlake after its release.

"I wanted to call and say, 'JT, you gotta put a muzzle on that,'" the rapper joked.

Based on the video that went viral, some fans at the venue laughed and found it funny, but Spears' fans on social media platforms found it insensitive.

Timbaland Gets Called Out By Online Users

After the video made rounds online, fans expressed their disappointment over Timbaland and called him out for his comment.

"Timbaland is the one who needs a muzzle. We didn't forget about his gross Aaliyah comments. He's still upset Britney didn't want to work with him. A nasty man," one wrote.

"This is in very bad taste especially given what Britney went through," another one wrote.

"wow timbaland, lost a lot of respect for you in the span of 5 mins," one noted.

"The misogyny is real not a muzzle like she's a female dog after all she's been through and accomplished that's wild just encouraging men to escape accountability is so crazy to me," one posted.

Timbaland, Justin Timberlake Friendship

Timbaland appeared to be on Justin Timberlake's side as both of them have been good friends for years now. 16 years ago, the duo first collaborated with Nelly Furtado for the song "Give It To Me."

Timberlake previously spoke about the rapper in an interview, saying both of them have a unique relationship and he doesn't share it with anyone else.

He noted that he considers the music producer as his brother and even though they don't have to say much to, he gets him, especially when they work on music together. (via Press Party)

In September 2023, the duo, along with Furtado, reunited and released a new song titled "Keep Going Up."
