It was a pleasant surprise for Victoria Monét to learn that she is one of the most nominated acts at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Taking home seven nominations, next to SZA who had nine, Victoria Monét bagged a Record of the Year and Best New Artist nomination, among many others.

However, it was her Best Traditional R&B Performance nomination that was the most special as it includes her daughter, Hazel in it.

Victoria Monét Daughter The Youngest Grammy Nominee Ever

According to The Recording Academy, Victoria Monét has been nominated for seven categories for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Her album, "Jaguar II" has been nominated for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best R&B Album. Her song, "How Does It Make You Feel" was nominated for Best R&B Performance, and "On My Mama" got Record of the Year and Best R&B Song. She was nominated for Best New Artist.

But among her nominations, the most special might be her Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Hollywood," a nomination she shares with Earth, Wind, and Fire, and her 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Hazel Monet.

According to People Magazine, Hazel is now the youngest Grammy nominee ever. Billboard says that the record was previously held by Leah Peasall of The Peasall Sisters. She was credited as an artist on "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" which was awarded Album of the Year in 2022. Leah was eight at the time.

Talking about how they learned about her and her daughter's nominations, Monet revealed that Hazel was just on the phone, watching "Baby Shark" while everyone was celebrating.

"She's like, kind of panicking, because she doesn't know why we're all screaming. I know I'll be able to explain it to her when she gets older, and she'll definitely appreciate it because she's already into music and is starting to write songs unknowingly. She's making potty songs and all that kind of stuff. So I'm super excited that this will be something that she has forever. I'm already thinking about her wardrobe for the Grammys," Monet admitted.

SZA will go head to head with Monet in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category with the former's "Love Language."

Her single "Kill Bill" has been nominated for three categories - Best R&B Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. "SOS" is nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album and Album of the Year.
