Did Slipknot already find a replacement for Jay Weinberg?

On November 5, Slipknot announced Weinberg's departure from the band after a decade of playing with him. Several drummers' names surfaced afterward as some wondered who would become the ex-drummer's successor.

Over a week after Weinberg's "departure," the public reportedly found signs that this drummer would be the new Slipknot drummer.

Who Is Slipknot's New Drummer?

In a YouTube video by Tank the Tech, Slipknot's fans started naming potential drummers who could be the next member of the band. The YouTuber also addressed the latest rumor that Jeramie Kling - who recently left Venom Inc., would be on board.

Tank the Tech supported the claims by sharing a screenshot of one of Kling's posts on Instagram, which the musician took down immediately.

The post included a photo of a black image and a deep red Slipknot logo, with the caption, "Drumming is simply a matter of timing. Bring it to you. Invite the chaos."

Although some wanted to meet the new drummer already, most Slipknot fans questioned the band's decision and offered support to Weinberg.

"I don't understand, if they are 'going in a different direction' why can't Jay go with them? Is he unable to try different things?" one asked. "Sounds like a lame excuse for getting rid of him."

One quipped, "Joey was fired by email, Jay was fired by a phone call! The next one is going to get an envelope in the door [w]hole."

Why Did Jeramie Kling Leave Venom Inc.?

Days before the video emerged, Kling - best known as War Machine - confirmed his split with Venom Inc., citing logistical issues.

"This has been an incredible journey that has taken me around the world! I have seen countries I had never been too, met wonderful friends and had a blast doing it!" he said. "I am proud of what we created on There's Only Black as well as the countless shows we have played over the years."

He started playing for the band in 2018 as a replacement for Abaddon and continued working with the bandmates until 2023.

Meanwhile, Weinberg has since posted a statement saying that he looks forward to creating more music as his axing from Slipknot was not the end of his journey.
